    The HR Business Partner - Staffing, is responsible for supporting departments with internal recruiting, administering and tracking information to adhere to the Collective Agreement, coordinating leaves of absences, attendance management and human resource projects.  This role works along-side other human resource functions and provides exceptional internal/external customer service.

    At Casino Rama Resort, the Human Resources department delivers services to over 2,500 C.R.E.W. members and accomplishes this due to its energetic, highly engaged and resilient team!   


    Employee/Labour Relations:

    • Ensures adherence to the Collective Agreement, policies and legislation
    • Builds and maintains a positive relationship with union representatives, employees departmental leadership
    • Administers process and is a resource on matters related to internal recruitment and Articles that effect classifications including but not limited to lay-off and recall provisions, shift bids, etc.

     Absence Coordination:

    • Administers leave of absence processes: short and long term disability and legislated leaves as per company policy, the collective agreement and third party contracts
    • Coordinates with departments on effective and timely return to work programs
    • Administers attendance programs:  innocent absenteeism and patterned absenteeism  
    • Works with the Abilities Specialists’ to ensure appropriate accommodations as per Human Rights Code requirements

     Recruitment and Selection:

    • Administers and coordinates the process for selection of internal candidates (union and non-union) utilizing talent management tools and resources
    • Assists colleagues with sourcing and selection processes for external candidates as required, including participating in recruitment efforts (i.e. Job Fairs)


    Job Requirements:

    • CHRP designation or in process
    • 1 to 2 years’ related experience, preferably within a unionized environment
    • Post-secondary education in human resources, with an emphasis on industrial or labour relations preferred
    • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain mutually respectful relationships
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated talent in using listening skills, negotiating, collaboration
    • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
    • Possess a positive and progressive attitude and is a strong team player
    • Strong MS Word and MS Excel skills
    • Demonstrated ability to talk and type at the same time with proficiency


    This is not an 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday Human Resources role.  Incumbents are expected to adjust their schedule to business demands which can include weekends, early and later shifts.  In addition, this position works weekends on a rotational basis.



    To ensure that Casino Rama Resort is compliant with Provincial Regulations governing the age that you are able to enter/access a casino, no individuals that are under the age of nineteen (19) are permitted to access the Gaming Floor unless explicit approval has been received (i.e. hired as an employee).
